Private Equity Expertise

Stuart Overend was until 2008 one of the five executives who ran the Private Equity division of Aberdeen Asset Management plc (with 40 staff and circa 150 investee companies).

He was a member of Aberdeen's Investment Committee and sat on the Multi-Asset Committee (£7bn under management) advising on private equity strategy.

Overend was responsible for limited partnership fund raising, and acquisitions and joint ventures within the Private Equity division. He is FSA registered (CF01, CF27).

Representation

In addition to his role as Private Equity Consultant to Hunter Advisers, Stuart Overend is a Non-Executive Director of Elphinstone Holdings Limited, a large independent land development company.

He assisted HM Treasury in the development of the International Centre for Financial Regulation (Interim Executive Committee 2007-08, chaired by Mervyn Davies, Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank).

Overend is a member of the British Venture Capital Association Legal and Technical Committee. He has been a member of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and is an Associate Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Personal

Stuart Overend, 40, lives in Glasgow with his wife, son and daughter. Away from business his interests include golf, rugby and cycling.
